PDS be computerized and pulses etc. should also be sold from Ration shops -Satish Upadhyay

New Delhi, 4th January,14.  BJP Pradesh President Shri Satish Upadhyay has urged the Delhi Chief Secretary Sh. D.M. Sapolia that Public Distribution System be Computerized so as to curb the anomalies & pilferation which have virtually failed the system in Delhi.

Shri Upadhyay has said that despite inflation coming down poor are unable to make Pulses & other protein foods in their regular diet. It is therefore essential that government works to bring pulses, rice & other food items within the reach of the poor. The PDS should be used to provide easy and fix priced availability of food items to common people.

A. In a letter sent to the Chief Secretary in this context Sh. Upadhyay has suggested :

1. All Ration Card Holders be provided Pulses at Cheaper Rates.
2. All Ration Card Holders be provided sugar.
3. All Food Items at Ration Shops be provided in packing of 1 kg & half kg. This will ensure both      quality & quantity,
4. All Non Ration Food Products at Ration Shops be so priced as to be available at Whole Sale          Market Rates in retail.

Shri Upadhyay has said that BJP government in Delhi will work on these lines and ensure a proper Public Distribution System in Delhi.
