Narendra Modi in Jammu Kashmir - Udhampur, Poonch rallies

Over 71 per cent voting in the Phase-I of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, has pumped up the BJP's confidence of making Mission 50+ a reality, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address rallies in Poonch and Udhampur today for the Phase-II of Assembly elections in the State.

'The Prime Minister will campaign for the candidates in the second phase of elections on November 28, 'Jammu and Kashmir BJP spokesperson Farooq Khan told PTI.

He said that PM Modi will address rallies in Udhampur district and border district of Poonch at 12 pm and 2:30 pm on Friday respectively.

People in these districts are eager to be addressed by the Prime Minister at public rallies and will come in large numbers, he claimed.

Asserting that Modi is a 'big factor' in these elections, Khan said the BJP will accomplish its Mission 50+ and form the Government in the State.

Seconding Khan's thoughts, some sources in the party said, 'Like the Kishtwar election rally, we are expecting record a attendance of BJP supporters at these rallies tomorrow (Friday)'.

More than 40,000 people came to hear Modi in the mountainous Kishtwar town on November 22 before the Phase-I of Assembly elections on November 25.

Surankote, Mendhar and Poonch Haveli constituencies in Poonch district, Ramnagar, Chenani and Udhampur in Udhampur district and Gulabgarh, Reasi, and Gool Arnas in Reasi district are going to poll.

In the Kashmir Valley, the constituencies going to poll include Devsar, Noorabad, Homeshalibugh and Kulgam in Kulgam district and Handwara, Kupwara, Karnah, Lolab and Langate in Kupwara district.

An unprecedented 70 per cent voter turnout was witnessed in the Phase-I of elections, which has infused ray of hope in the party.

BJP is contesting all the 87 Assembly Seats in the State without forging alliances with any political party.

The second phase of polling will take place on December 2, 2014
