Pakistan, stay away from PoK - says Muslim Cleric

The chairman of Anjuman Minhaj-e- Rasool, an Islamic organisation working for peace and communal harmony, has said that given a chance, majority of residents in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) would love to join the Union of India.

Hindol Sengupta, Editor-at-Large, Fortune India and writer tells Niti Central that there are many such voices in the region, who don’t dare to speak out in the open, mainly due to fear. But with situation changing and terrorists losing their influence, these groups who shun the separatists are voicing their opinion. It is also true that people who stay in the PoK region aspire to be a part of India since nothing can be more lucrative than democracy and development.
