Why BJP?

Why BJP? Today our country is at a crossroad. While other countries are fast overtaking us, India continues to be mired in corruption, controversies and ineffective governance. Internecine strife is also undermining our own internal integrity and security. The time has therefore come to demand a change - a change to lift our nation from a rut that the present dispensation has got it into. Therefore with an objective to bring BJP back to power so that India gets back its past glory and fame.Shri Narendra Modi aspire to bring together all the nationalistic and like-minded people who have their nation's interest as their goal and are looking forward to see a new face of Shining India. Shri Narendra Modi want's India to be rich, developed and strong. The present government policies are flawed and are leading us nowhere. A drastic and immediate change is needed and only an effective, committed and efficient government of the BJP can steer the development of the nation. That's the need of the hour and the country cannot afford continuation of an inefficient government. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government had taken India forward on all fronts during their tenure. Its common manifesto in the 1999 elections was called, "An Agenda For a Proud, Prosperous India". In NDA regime India was more prosperous than ever before. There was greater pride, hope, and self-confidence among Indians than ever earlier.India stood tall on the international stage, with greater prestige and recognition. Today, whereas the UPA government is facing a ‘policy paralysis', the NDA-ruled states have achieved over 10% growth. Three BJP-ruled states — Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and MadhyPradesh — were currently among the top six states in the country in terms of GDP growth. All BJP ruled states have GDP growth of over 10% and one of the key reasons why India has been able to achieve at least a 5.5% GDP growth rate. The governance initiatives of states ruled by BJP are doing well on various fronts including power, water and crop insurance. Most of the awards by the Centre for governance are bagged by BJP or states ruled by its allies. When NDA government was in power under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, India was on the move. Many path breaking initiatives were introduced and India saw unique achievements in many areas. There was economic growth and many reforms were introduced to eradicate poverty and unemployment. The prices of essential commodities were under check and there was no shortage of foodgrains. The ‘aam admi’ was contented during the NDA regime. There was lot of infrastructural development too including golden quadrilateral project connecting the 4 metros. The Kanyakumari to Kashmir expressway was also a major achievement of NDA. Ambitious project of connecting all ports by a series of road, rail and sea link along with modernization of sea ports called Sagarmala was undertaken. There was peace, security and unity in the country during NDA government. While three new states were formed, there was considerable reduction in communal and caste violence. The NDA government dealt with terrorism with a firm hand. The NDA regime had banned SIMI on September 27, 2001, less than 20 days after the terror attack on US. The ban order had been upheld five times after mandatory scrutiny by a Tribunal. Only on one occasion, in 2008, the Tribunal had quashed the ban, but it was stayed by the Supreme Court. The holding of free and fair elections in Jammu and Kashmir in 2002, and the commitment to a dialogue process, generated new hope for the people of the state which has been embroiled in insurgency and cross border terrorism. There were significant efforts towards peace in Nagaland, while terror base of ULFA and Naxalite was crushed. The judicial reforms were initiated by appointment of judicial reforms commission. On the social front, it launched some of the biggest-ever social development initiatives in the world, including the Antyodaya Anna Yojana and the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. The coverage of the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), which is the world's largest early childcare program, was greatly expanded. Major initiatives, such as establishment of a separate ministry for tribal affairs, were taken to promote the cause of social justice. The NDA government also attempted discrimination against minorities and equal status to all communities. It was only when Vajpayee was in power that India’s stature in the world grew exponentially. India gained respect and recognition among world community after India became a nuclear power. India then emerged as a world leader and engaged into strategic relationship not only with USA, but also with ASEAN and European countries. The Pokhran nuclear test was a landmark achievement and many international attempts to isolate India were foiled by NDA government by taking a bold stand. While special alliance were developed with neighbours , PM Vajpayee’s dialogue with Pakistan earned him appreciation. He also led India successfully against Pakistan in Kargil war. The BJP is committed to making India an economic superpower through- Focus on Agriculture Priority will be given to agriculture and focus will be to reducing waste of fruits and vegetables. The "Second Green Revolution" will follow a strategy different from the one that characterized the First Green Revolution. The "Second Green Revolution" will follow a strategy different from the one that formed the cornerstone of the First Green Revolution. The former focused on the popularization of high-yielding crop varieties to overcome food shortage. In contrast, the Second Green Revolution will embrace the entire Agro-Economy, from the farmer to the consumer and also involve various facets of technological advancements. Food processing Currently, India processes only 2% of the value of its agricultural produce. As a result, in spite of being a leader in production of many fruits and vegetables, there is a huge amount of wastage and it fails to reach the targeted masses. This should be raised to 10% in five years to address the main problems facing India's food processing industry. BJP believes that the food processing sector can transform the rural economy vibrant in the same manner that IT has made our national economy prosper. It is avowed objective, a cherished goal and indeed, a commitment to the people. Access to affordable healthcare is a basic need, which must be provided for. Governance Reforms Good Governance Reforms, which will focus on: 1) Administrative reforms to check corruption, promote transparency and accountability, remove delays in decision-making; and to make government employees treat the people as their masters. 2) Electoral reforms to check the unhealthy influence of money power and prevent criminalization of politics. 3) Judicial reforms for speedy and affordable justice. 4) Political reforms to raise the standards and efficacy of Parliament, State Legislatures, and other elected bodies. 5) Reform of ministries to speed up decision making and develop better capabilities for policy formulation and implementation. 6) Good Corporate Governance reforms to ensure lawful and ethical business practices, protection of shareholders' interests, and consumer protection. National Security BJP’s priorities will be to eliminate cross-border terrorism and take up the pending police reforms and modernization of state police forces. The focus of BJP government will be to consolidate peace, normalcy and development in the State by eliminating terrorism and further strengthen the Centre's cooperation with the State government. Efforts will be made to ensure early return of Kashmiri Pandits and other displaced people to their native places. BJP will ensure that peace is restored and normalcy returns the North East and Jammu & Kashmir and a dialogue is initiated with all groups. BJP will ensure modernization of Defence forces. Thus BJP has been working for a powerful, prosperous, terrorism-free India. All Indian citizens to unite together for the progress of nation and bring back BJP in power. Robin Sharma
